The Fellowship of the Bearing is a remarkable adventure into groundbreaking downhill skateboarding competitions that has, since their inception, defined new styles of extreme skateboarding. This film takes the viewers to top races and some of the worlds highest peaks with breakthrough footage from some of the hardest working and most recognized downhill skaters out there. Matched with acclaimed Cinematograhers and skaters that know the ropes, the passion is obvious by the 13 months that was dedicated to shooting. Our hope is the tech and smooth high speed skating will inspire skaters to try new types of skateboarding by seeing it done first hand by some of our industries best athletes. Aside from the Colabo riders in the film, our journey took us well beyond our original goal to simply make a solid team video. Riders like Scoot Smith, Mischo Erban, Jim Z, JM Duran, Kyle Martin, Hugh Johnson, Tom Edstrand and other top contenders made the film simply by dominating on the race course with style and fierce sportsmanship. Races across North America and Europe have grown from only a handful of riders, to organizers having to put a cap on entry just to get it done before the weekend ends. The Fellowship of the Bearing, SHOT IN HD, is like no other film out there and is the first production of it’s kind to take you into the lives of skaters that look at street hills as their stomping grounds. Rather than see intense “un skate able” roads as threats, longboarders have taken the initiative to show the world that hitting hills is an experience that is worth giving it a go. Addiction is inevitable. Whether it be cruising with your bros near the beach, pre drifting for switchbacks or blasting down hills at 100km/hour (62m/hr), the Colabo Video is guaranteed to have you look at this rapidly growing sport in a unique and satisfying way.
